Data Entry Clerk
Opportunity | Duty Description
Job Summary:
The Data Entry Clerk will be responsible for data entry, data quality, analysis , reporting and the maintenance of the REDcap database (data entry and reporting software for the project) in the region. He/she will be responsible for providing supportive field and data verification of the region with guidance from the database administrative officer.
Specific Responsibilities and KPA’s:
- Provides data capturing services to the DREAMS program and other related data capturing activities of Project HOPE.
- Prepares paper-based M&E tools for electronic data entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities
- Processes paper-based tools by reviewing data for deficiencies in terms of completeness, cleanliness and accuracy; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or addressing discrepancies in source documents.
- Ensures and maintain confidentiality of collected and stored data
- Enters client/ beneficiary data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information on a computer keyboard or tablet according to REDcap screen format;
- Maintains data entry requirements by following data programming techniques and procedures;
- Verifies entered client / beneficiary data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or re-entering data; eliminates duplication of data per REDcap data quality rules.
- Maintains and file paper-based tools in an orderly manner
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Is part of the Regional Quality Management/ Quality Improvement (QM/QI) team; analyses data on a monthly basis and prepares a feedback report for the Regional QM/QI Team and other field staff as necessary.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed or other duties assigned to them.
Opportunity | Duty Requirement(s)
- A National Diploma in Statistics/Applied mathematics and statistic or related fields with 1-year related work experience in data entry and management and analysis in the health sector;
- Proven ICT skills in Microsoft Office and Data base management on at least one of the following: Excel, EPI info, SPSS, SAS, STATA and web-based database, Redcap;
- Excellent communication skills in English and another Namibian language will be beneficial;
- Possess excellent communication, skills;
- Typing and data entry skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, thoroughness, decision-making, independence, analysing information, results driven, motivated; and
- Ability to work within a team
