MANAGER: HUMAN RESOURCES
General Description of the position:
Plans, administers, implements, and coordinates the activities of the IR/HR. Ensures compliance with HR policies, insurance, compensation, performance evaluations and supports plant personnel with consistency in personnel policies as well as health and safety.
The Human Resources Manager works across all levels of the organisation, providing an informed, professional, and efficient service on all aspects of human resources management and strategy, as determined by the Project Manager. This includes partnering with senior staff to identify HR priorities and recommend appropriate people management solutions in relation to organisational development, culture and change to deliver outcomes and manage issues. The Human Resources Manager ensures that the delivery of programs and initiatives is closely aligned with the company’s vision and goals.
Key performance areas:
Policies and Procedures: Guide and advise management and staff on all HR policies, procedures, practices, and legislation
Recruitment: Identify manpower requirements, facilitate, and provide support to line management and the HR corporate office during the recruitment process
Ensure entry requirements for new employees have been met and inductions are done
Remuneration: ensure that all site payroll information is accurate and submitted to the Payroll Department in a timely manner
Performance management and training: Assist line management with performance management and training needs analysis and arranging of such
Industrial Relations: Work pro-actively to minimise labour issues and handle all grievances and disciplinary procedures on site
Terminations: Perform exit procedures
Information Management: Update all HR information and ensure HR files are complete and up to date.
Reporting: Preparation of all HR site reports and statistics to comply with all company and statutory requirements
Communication: Ensure that HR-related matters are clearly communicated and understood by all employees, contractors and other relevant parties; Attend meetings and assist with staff communication; Act as liaison between management, staff and other stakeholders: First point of contact for all HR queries
Coordinate Union, Industrial Relations, Labour Relations Matters. Manage day to day running of the HR department and its personnel.
Minimum requirements
- Relevant tertiary degree in Human Resources Management or Industrial Psychology
- Driver’s Licence and own transport
- Solid knowledge of all applicable legislation
- Solid knowledge of Namibian Labour law
- Minimum of 3(Three) years working experience in industrial Relation, preferably within the construction industry
- Computer literate.
