Key Responsibilities
- Maintain day-to-day accounting entries, ledgers, and financial records in accordance with accounting standards.
- Financial analysis, and reporting.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations, as well as reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable for shipping transactions and resolve any open items.
- Work in collaboration with operations team on customers onboarding, to verify shipping/cargo expense line items and clear billing queries.
- Auditing – assist internal and external auditors by supplying documentation and financial schedules.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting process.
- Supervise junior accounting staff and provide training and guidance.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with at least five (5) years accounting experience.
- Strong working knowledge with accounting software and proficiency in MS Software.
- Experience in Transport and Logistics finance a distinct advantage
- Good grasp of accounting principles, local tax regulations, and reconciliation processes.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in financial data.
