The Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF) is Namibia’s largest pension fund, established by statute to provide retirement benefits and related services to employees of government institutions and public sector entities across the country. Headquartered in Windhoek, GIPF manages assets exceeding NAD 100 billion, serving over 100,000 active members and more than 40,000 pensioners throughout Namibia. The fund operates under the Government Institutions Pension Fund Act and is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the Minister of Finance, ensuring prudent investment and administration of member contributions. Beyond pension administration, GIPF contributes to Namibia’s economic development through strategic investments in local infrastructure, property, and capital markets.
