To design, develop, validate and optimise advanced quantitative models, analytical frameworks and data-driven solutions that enhance credit risk management, regulatory compliance, and portfolio performance. Key Responsibilities
- Participate in cross-functional projects to address emerging analytical needs and unlock value across credit lifecycle activities (origination, monitoring, collections, provisioning).
- Use data and analytic insights to provide input into managing credit risk
- Validate, interpret and create reports and presentations for data analytics, management and relevant stakeholders.
- Provide input into creation of delivery plans for achievement of outputs / deliverables in collaboration with business stakeholders to understand information requirements for strategy delivery and define metrics that track performance.
- Assist in productionilisation of analytics in the approved FirstRand architecture by translating technical data information into practical business information that addresses identified needs.
- Contribute to the development of core analytical capabilities or model libraries using advanced statistical, quantitative or econometric techniques and utilize as appropriate.
- Participate in relevant project related to the businesses overall analytical needs and opportunities.
- Translate business requirements into tangible models utilizing own understanding of the business value of projects, models and processes.
Requirements
- A Bachelors Degree in one of the following (Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Econometrics, Physics or Actuarial Science).
- Minimum of at least 3 – 5 years relevant experience in a similar environment.
- Experience in credit analytics.
- Familiarity with banking regulation such as BID-2, IFRS9, risk frameworks and compliance requirements.
- Intermediate to Advanced level skills in either SAS, SQL, Python or R.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Intermediate to Advanced level skills in data visualization tools (PowerBi or Tableau).
