Key Responsibilities
- Teach Biology and Physics from Grade 8 to AS Level.
- Plan and deliver engaging, learner-centred science lessons.
- Prepare learners for internal and external examinations.
- Conduct safety experiments and ensure effective use of laboratory resources.
- Develop and assess tests, assignments, practical work and examination papers.
- Monitor learner progress and provide appropriate academic support.
- Encourage scientific thinking, problem-solving, investigation and independent learning.
- Maintain accurate academic, practical and assessment records.
- Promote safe laboratory practices and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
- Participate in departmental meetings, school activities and extracurricular programmes.
Requirements
- Recognised teaching qualification and relevant Bachelor’s degree in Science, Biology, Physics or a related field.
- Appropriate specialisation in Biology and Physics.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ teaching experience, preferably at Senior Secondary level.
- Experience teaching Grade 8 – AS Level.
- Experience with Cambridge International IGCSE / AS Levels will be an advantage.
- Strong subject knowledge in Biology and Physics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Good computer literacy.
- Ability to effectively conduct and supervise practical laboratory work.
