The Electricity Control Board (ECB) is Namibia’s statutory regulator for the electricity sector, headquartered in Windhoek. Established under the Electricity Control Board Act 1998, the ECB oversees licensing, tariff setting, and compliance for generation, transmission, distribution, and retail operators. It ensures that electricity supply remains reliable, safe, and affordable for Namibian consumers. The board also promotes consumer protection and facilitates industry development through transparent regulatory processes.
