Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the clinical and treatment components of WBCG Wellness Service interventions within the assigned region, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Provide comprehensive HIV prevention, quality testing, treatment, care, and counselling services in line with national standards, guidelines, and protocols of the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS).
- Deliver patient-centred nursing care and support services to all clients accessing HIV-related and integrated wellness services.
- Initiate and manage Antiretroviral Therapy (ART), including monitoring adherence, managing side effects, and ensuring viral load suppression.
- Administer Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) to eligible clients, ensuring proper counselling, initiation, and follow-up.
- Conduct clinical assessments, request appropriate laboratory investigations, interpret results, and provide evidence-based clinical management.
- Ensure effective case management and continuity of care, including linkage to treatment, retention, and follow-up of clients across the HIV care cascade.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential clinical records in compliance with professional standards and project requirements.
- Oversee the management and control of medical records, pharmaceuticals, and clinical supplies to ensure accountability and uninterrupted service delivery.
- Participate in outreach and community-based wellness campaigns in collaboration with MoHSS, stakeholders, and implementing partners to expand service access.
- Support data collection, reporting, and quality improvement processes to strengthen programme performance and client outcomes.
Requirements
- A relevant Degree or Diploma in Nursing or Midwifery from a recognized institution.
- Certification of NINAWAT with a certification of two years’ experience providing ART services.
- Registered Nurse in good standing with the Nursing Council of Namibia.
- Valid Code B driver’s license.
- Sound knowledge and practical application of Namibia’s national HIV/AIDS policies, guidelines, and treatment protocols.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and perform effectively under pressure.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including after-hours, and travel extensively as required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in English (both written and verbal); proficiency in local languages of the region will be an added advantage.
- Good computer literacy, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, and strong report writing skills.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and ability to always maintain strict confidentiality.
- Namibian citizenship.
