Key Responsibilities
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting, cleaning, and upkeep of buildings and facilities.
- Install heating, cooling, and ventilation systems
- Clean and replace filters
- Check refrigerant levels and electrical components
- Lubricate moving parts to prevent wear
- Perform routine inspections of HVAC systems
- Diagnose problems in heating and cooling systems
- Repair or replace faulty components (motors, compressors, fans)
- Fix leaks, especially in refrigerant lines or ducts
- Maintain cleanliness and order in maintenance areas, workshops, and surrounding facilities.
- Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Support skilled artisans with maintenance work
- Carry out routine inspections and report faults or damages.
- Always follow all health and safety procedures.
- Report hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents immediately.
- Follow any other reasonable instruction provided by person in authority.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Certification in a recognized Institution in HVAC
- Previous work experience in HVAC at least 2 years
- Previous general work or maintenance experience advantageous
- Experience in a lodge or remote environment beneficial
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour
- Valid Driver’s License advantageous
