We are looking for a JUNIOR CHEF to join our tribe!

This position will be assisting in the kitchen at Camp Sossus, in the Sossusvlei area.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for the running of the kitchen.
Responsible for all meals for guests and staff.
Responsible for weekly menu planning, subsequent placing of orders and maintaining FIFO when stock arrives.
Ensure kitchen and storerooms are maintained in terms of health & safety standards.
Responsible for strict stock control in order to control food costs and minimize food wastage.
Responsible for stock take as required.
Responsible for inspecting equipment and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.
Coordinate with other kitchen employees.

Requirements

Must be a Namibian citizen.
At least 2 years proven experience in a kitchen at a remote luxury lodge.
Driver’s license with PDP would be advantageous.
Excellent spoken and written English.
Strong ethics and reliability.
Position requires long and flexible working hours.
