Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for inspecting, servicing, diagnosing and repairing heavy mobile and earthmoving equipment to ensure safe operation, equipment reliability and maximum availability.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a mechanic in a construction, mining or heavy-equipment workshop environment.
- Level 3 Diesel Mechanics qualification, Trade Certificate or similar recognised technical qualification.
- Practical experience working on heavy mobile and earthmoving equipment.
- Sound knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, braking systems and electrical components.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and perform effective repairs.
- Understanding of preventative maintenance and equipment service intervals.
- Ability to read technical manuals, service information and equipment specifications.
- Experience completing job cards and maintenance documentation.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Computer literacy will be an advantage.
