Key Responsibilities
- Effective management of Branch Administration and Operations (Manned, Technical, Alarm Monitoring and Response)
- Ensure full compliance to all relevant security operational legislative requirements and to all G4S security operational procedures and standards (including Health and Safety, HR, and Fleet, etc.).
- Fully optimize and utilize resources to ensure smooth and efficient branch operations and services.
- Conduct various investigations and reporting.
- Submit daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports, Operational & Financial.
- Effective management of the risk process and compliance
- Ensure compliance and monitor adherence to procedures and policies regarding risks.
- Identify, develop, implement, and maintain security processes and strategies to reduce H&S risks.
- Identify significant security risks, design and implement strategies and programs to prevent and reduce loss of the client’s assets.
- Recommend capital expenditure according to identified risks.
- Part take in internal and external G4S audits and ensure closure of all audits findings.
- Effective management of financial & performance
- Manage relationships between actual financial results, budgets and forecasts.
- Initiate cost saving model and controls.
- Gross Margin Management.
- Direct Wages and Overhead control.
- Service/Schedule profitability.
- Recommend capital expenditure in line with authority matrix.
- Customer Retention and Corporate Account Management
- Develop sound client relationships with designated customers & clients.
- Schedule regular client visits and meetings to ascertain customer satisfaction.
- Conduct customer satisfaction surveys and close survey concerns or findings.
- Achieve customer retention targets and KPIs.
- Collect and negotiate with clients in respect of outstanding DOS.
- Effective development of new business in line with sales targets
- Ensure effective promotion and sales of new and existing G4S product lines.
- Identify potential new business opportunities.
- Arrange and conduct meetings with new business prospects and market G4S integrated security solutions.
- Fleet Management
- Coordinate branch vehicles’ repairs and maintenance with the fleet department in order to ensure availability of vehicles at all times.
- Coordinate the fuel utilization and expenses of branch vehicles.
- Management of Technical/Department
- Manage and oversee the overall technical department including installations, maintains and after hours work. Especifically Alarm, Electric fence & CCTV systems.
- Lead and supervise the team of technicians, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security systems.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their security requirements or needs and provide customized solutions.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine optimal locations for security equipment on quotation.
- Design and develop solutions for clients.
- Ensure compliance with standards and regulations in the implementation of security systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal technical teams.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project completion.
- Effective management of staff
- Ensure adequate staffing with sufficient staff through G4S screening and vetting recruitment processes.
- Ensure that frontline staff are fully utilized to cover services through an effective labour efficiency planning to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Set up performance objectives and standards with staff to be assessed on a regular basis.
- Hold weekly management team briefing meetings with subordinates and communicate to frontline staff through those briefings.
- Set and maintain acceptable behaviour standards at work by employees, as required by G4S’s Code of Conduct and disciplinary code.
- Ensure that all disciplinary actions are conducted in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all grievances are attended to and resolved within reasonable time and in compliance with G4S grievance policies and procedures.
- Draft succession planning and determine training needs (in line with training and HR policy) for staff. Arrange for attendance of subordinates at scheduled training interventions and coach staff as needed.
- Leadership
- Motivate staff positively, provide guidance, build morale and improve the work environment.
- Provide staff with positive encouragement and inspire others.
- Establish open communication and encourage the team.
- Hold and attend weekly management team meetings and communicate to all branch staff through those briefings.
Requirements
- A relevant tertiary management and security related qualification.
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years branch management experience preferable in a security industry.
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years working experience with a major law enforcement, military, intelligence, public service, and/or private sector security organizations.
- Business acumen experience with sound understanding of financial information (Profit and Loss Statement).
- Proven experience in customer relationship management and dealing with senior executives
- Technical experience on all security systems such as Alarm & CCTV systems, Access control systems or in general understanding of electronics. (compulsory)
- IT experienced & good computer skills, Knowledge of MS windows, Google Chrome, Ability to develop policies and procedures, Leading People, Managing Professionally, Managing Conflict, Negotiation, Awareness of Market Environment, Delivery Strategy, Financial Skills, Working with complexity, Awareness of the market environment, Ability to respond positively and enthusiastically to change, Attention to detail, Ability to support others, Ability to work under pressure, Ability to work independently and in a team, Trustworthy and well organized, Communication (written and verbal), Language proficiency in both English and Afrikaans with a third language been an advantage. Acting professionally at all times. Good knowledge or experience in control rooms will be an advantage.

- A Police Code of Conduct Certificate with no endorsements obtained during the last 6 months is required.
