Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA)|Namibia presents an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Technologist reporting to the Country Lead: Quality & Food Safety. Key Responsibilities
- Process Monitoring, product release and governance – Conduct effective governance of all processes in water treatments, syrup manufacture operations, production processes and wastewater treatment processes ensuring prompt action where deviations are identified. Monitor key process parameters and perform real-time interventions eg product isolation and management where deviations in quality and food safety are observed. Approve or reject product batches based on quality results Verify that corrective actions are implemented and effective before product release.
- Data Management and Reporting – Compile and analyse quality and food safety trends(CCPs, PRPs, oPRPs) reports for timely resolution and corrective action plan where deviations occur. Ensure Process Capability programs are implemented, monitored and reviewed by all relevant QA, Engineering and Production departments on agreed frequencies and drive adoption of technologies that drive improvements.
- Quality and food safety incident Management – Assist in investigating and problem solving on product and process non-conformances, consumer complaints, or foreign matter incidents. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) on product, package and CCP/oPRP trends. Escalate unresolved issues to the Quality and Food Safety Manager.
- Stakeholder Management – Responsible for ensuring readiness of all commercialization projects/products and validations in liaison with stakeholders.
- Systems, Audits and Standards Compliance – Participate in internal and external audits (e.g., FSSC, KORE, customer audits). Monitor and ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hygiene, and housekeeping compliance in water treatment, syrup manufacture, production and wastewater treatment areas. Support quality system implementation and maintenance (SOPs, work instructions, records) ISO 9000, FSSC 22000. Implement, monitor and participate in validations of CCPs, oPRPs, PRPs eg Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) and sanitation programs for syrup and water systems and allergen control.
- Training and capability development – Develop and enhance quality and food safety capability through training and awareness. Support the succession planning by identifying and developing talent within the quality function.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent
- HACCP and ISO/FSSC certifications are advantageous
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a quality assurance or laboratory environment in the FMCG or beverage industry
- Strong background in syrup making, water treatment oversight, or liquid product processing
- Experience working in a certified food safety and manufacturing environment
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and quality standards
- Working knowledge of KORE regulatory requirements (NRCS, SABS)
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Attention to detail, teamwork, and critical thinking skills
- Code 8 driver’s license
- Written & oral ability of English (Proficiency in an indigenous language will be an added advantage).
