Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA)|Namibia presents an exciting opportunity for a Process Specialist reporting to the Country Lead: Quality & Food Safety. Key Responsibilities
- Syrup Room and Processing Oversight – Manage syrup making operations, ensuring correct formulations, accurate batch mixing, and timely delivery to production lines. Oversee the operational efficiency of the syrup room teams and sustain high hygiene standards. Ensure the availability, correct handling and storage of ingredients and concentrates.
- Water Treatment Oversight – Act as the plant’s technical interface for water treatment services. Ensure that contractors (where process is outsourced) meet all water quality parameters, service level agreements (SLAs), and regulatory/KORE requirements. Monitor water treatment reports, perform trend analysis, and escalate risks to the QFS Manager.
- Process Compliance and Quality Assurance – Ensure syrup, treated water and wastewater treatment meet TCCC specifications and food safety standards. Complete verifications and reviews of the CCP’s and oPRPs in syrup manufacture and water treatment processes. Drive adherence to GMP, GLP, and KORE protocols in water treatment and syrup room. Lead process quality checks, validations, and verifications, and ensure corrective actions where deviations occur. Participate in commercialisation projects/products and validations in liaison with stakeholders.
- Hygiene and Cleaning Standards – Implement, monitor and participate in validation of Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) and sanitation programs for syrup and water systems. Ensure effective cleaning of all equipment and environments to eliminate contamination risks.
- Documentation and Systems Support – Maintain accurate and complete records related to syrup batches, water quality, and process parameters. Support ISO 9000, FSSC 22000, and KORE audits by ensuring documentation readiness. Participate in root cause analyses, non-conformance investigations, and CAPA processes.
- People Leadership and Development – Lead and coach direct reports to ensure operational excellence and compliance. Identify training needs and implement development plans for the processing team. Ensure adherence to shift schedules, performance KPIs, and safety protocols.
- Cost Management – Complete the budgets – OPEX/CAPEX. Manage the process OPEX budget and cost of quality. Manage the material efficiencies – sugar, concentrate and syrup yield and water usage. Adopt automation and AI to drive down cost of operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent
- Additional certifications in Food Safety (e.g., HACCP, FSSC 22000) and KORE are advantageous
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in FMCG or beverage manufacturing
- Strong background in syrup making, water treatment oversight, or liquid product processing
- Experience working in a certified food safety environment
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and quality standards
- Working knowledge of KORE regulatory requirements (NRCS, SABS)
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills
- Code 8 driver’s license
- Written & oral ability of English (Proficiency in an indigenous language will be an added advantage).
