SENIOR ICT INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER – Altus ICT 5 views

Key Responsibilities

• Design, specify and oversee deployment of enterprise LAN/WAN, fibre and wireless networks.
• Lead data centre build-outs, including server racks, virtualisation, storage and power management.
• Architect and implement cybersecurity solutions, including firewalls, VPNs and intrusion prevention.
• Deliver AV, CCTV and access control system installations to ALTUS ICT quality standards.
• Produce detailed technical designs, Bills of Materials and as-built documentation.
• Monitor and maintain managed infrastructure environments for performance and availability.
• Proactively identify risks, vulnerabilities and capacity constraints before impact.
• Oversee patching, backup and disaster recovery processes across client environments.
• Maintain accurate infrastructure inventories, configuration records and network diagrams.
• Act as senior technical point of contact for high-value and complex client accounts.
• Lead technical workshops, site assessments and solution presentations.
• Manage vendor and partner relationships, including Cisco, Fortinet and Hikvision.
• Provide technical input for proposals, tenders and scope-of-work documentation.
• Mentor Senior IT Technicians, IT Technicians and Interns in infrastructure best practices.
• Develop and maintain technical SOPs, runbooks and training materials.
• Drive continuous improvement and standardisation of ALTUS ICT technical practices.
• Support pre-sales engagements with technical expertise.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration, Informatics, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• CCNP, CCIE or equivalent advanced networking certification is mandatory.
• Fortinet NSE 4 or above.
• Additional security certifications such as CISSP or CEH will be an advantage.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or Windows Server will be an advantage.
• A VMware VCP or equivalent virtualisation certification will be an advantage.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in ICT infrastructure, network engineering or data centre environments.
• Proven track record of designing and deploying large-scale enterprise networks, fibre backbones and data centre solutions.
• Demonstrable experience managing cybersecurity environments and leading technical teams.
• Advanced enterprise networking: LAN/WAN, OSPF, BGP, SD-WAN and MPLS.
• Fibre-optic and copper structured cabling.
• Data centre design, rack-and-stack, power, cooling and virtualisation.
• Cybersecurity, firewall configuration, VPN, SIEM and endpoint protection.
• Enterprise CCTV, biometric and facial access control systems will be an advantage.
• Backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Cloud infrastructure integration, including Microsoft Azure and AWS basics.
• Enterprise AV and video conferencing infrastructure will be an advantage.
• Advanced diagnostics and root-cause analysis.
