Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all aspects of warehouse operations, including the Warehouse Supervisor, Inventory Controller, and Inbound Logistics Controller.
- Monitor the performance of all warehouse functions to ensure KPIs are met, and operational goals are achieved.
- Prepare and submit regular reports to the Manager: Supply Chain detailing warehouse operations, performance metrics, issues, and resolutions.
- Ensure that inventory records are maintained accurately and that goods are handled in a way that aligns with inventory control systems.
- Overseer the identification, categorization, and proper documentation of scrap materials that are to be sold. Ensure all scrap items are properly classified and meet company standards before sale.
- Ensure that inbound shipments are efficiently managed, working with the Expeditor to track shipments, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely receipt of materials.
- Resolve operational issues within the warehouse by escalating matters as required and implementing corrective actions to minimize disruption
Requirements
- A Bachelors (Hons) in Procurement, Logistics or Supply Chain. (NQF Level 8)
- A minimum of seven (7) years working experience in a warehouse environment, of which three (3) should have been at a supervisory or managerial position.
- Membership and qualification from CIPS will be an added advantage
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams
- Valid Code B Driver’s License
- Valid Police Clearance Certificate (not older than 6 months)
