Job Title: ENROLLED NURSE – ANESTHETIC NURSE
Purpose of the Position:
The Enrolled Nurse – Anesthetic Nurse supports anesthesia procedures, monitors patients’ vital signs, and assists with patient recovery during and after surgery, ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centred care in line with hospital protocols and scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with pre-anesthetic preparation, intra-operative support, and post-anesthesia patient recovery, ensuring continuous monitoring and timely reporting of any abnormalities.
- Support the administration of anesthesia within scope of practice, including airway management assistance and maintaining patient stability during procedures.
- Prepare, clean, test, and maintain anesthesia equipment and ensure all theatre resources are safe, functional, and ready for use.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and legally compliant patient records, including monitoring charts and treatment documentation.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention, health and safety standards, and all hospital policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with doctors, nursing staff, and the multidisciplinary team, while responding to emergencies using basic life support techniques and supporting efficient theatre operations.
Requirements
- Certificate as an Enrolled Nurse.
- Registration with the Health Professions Council of Namibia (HPCNA) as an Enrolled Nurse.
- Post-basic training or exposure in anesthesia nursing will be an added advantage.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a clinical environment, preferably in theatre or anesthetic support.
- Experience in a private hospital setting will be an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of infection prevention and control practices.
