Central Sterilisation Services Technician
Role Purpose:
To clean and sterilise packs, linen, and instruments, medical and surgical devices to prevent cross infection.
Key Responsibilities
- Receives used instruments for cleaning
- Sorts, Sterilises and packs instruments as well as linen according to laid down procedures
- Stores and distributes sterilised instruments to the departments
- Always adheres to infection control policy of the hospital.
- Checks stock levels of all relevant medical instruments and reports to the Registered Nurse daily.
- Takes stock count of the linen monthly and reports to the Registered Nurse as required.
- Reports broken and worn-out Items to the Registered nurse.
- Any other task that will be allocated to by RNs related to infection control and patient care
Requirements
- Grade 12
- 2 years’ experience in a health care environment
- A certificate in CSSD will be an advantage.
