Purpose of the Job
The Bowser operator will operate the fuel and/or water bowser equipment and vehicles to supply diesel or water to a fleet of mining equipment including drill rigs, excavators, dozers, trucks and etc, as well water haul roads for construction and to dust suppression.
Key Responsibilities
- Fuel Distribution: Refuel machines like excavators, generators, pump and lighting plants directly at their work locations.
- Safety & Inspections: Conduct pre-start safety checks on the bowser, perform continuous risk assessments throughout the shift, and ensure all health and safety protocols are met.
- Inventory & Logging: Monitor fuel levels in the bowser, record the amount of diesel dispensed to each machine accurate movement logs for the vehicle.
- Housekeeping: Clean the vehicle cabin and equipment regularly to maintain a safe a professional working environment.
Requirements
- Grade 10 or 12 National Certificate
- Code C driver’s license or bigger is compulsory
- Hazchem Certificate for transporting dangerous goods
- At least 3 years’ experience as a diesel, water or any C License type truck in opencast mining or construction.
