Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of the company’s Social Investment Strategy.
• Build partnerships with government, NGOs, community organisations, and development partners.
• Ensure social investment projects are sustainable, well-managed, measurable, and aligned with community and company priorities.
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual Social Performance reports.
• Maintain accurate documentation of engagements, grievances, commitments, and expectations.
• Ensure compliance with internal governance procedures and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Social Performance team (CLOs / Social Performance Officers).
• Represent the company in high-level engagements with authorities, communities, and institutional partners.
• Promote strong HSE culture and uphold high ethical standards in all community interactions.

• Lead the development and implementation of the Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP) and community relations strategies.
• Build trusted relationships through continuous community consultations, meetings, and structured dialogue.
• Maintain an effective grievance mechanism, ensuring registration, investigation, resolution, and tracking of issues.
• Oversee consistent messaging and support leadership with culturally appropriate communication strategies.
• Oversee social components of ESIAs, including fieldwork, surveys, baseline studies, and consultant coordination.
• Ensure compliance with internal social performance standards, Namibian regulations, and international best practice.
• Develop and implement social performance tools such as KPIs, checklists, templates, and dashboards.
• Monitor social risks, impacts, and mitigations, providing regular updates to the HSSE Manager.

Requirements

• Namibian citizen.
• Post-graduate qualification in Community Development, Sustainability, Anthropology, Sociology, Communications, or related Social Sciences.
• 15+ years’ experience in social investment, stakeholder management, and community relations within industry or international development.
• Proven experience implementing Stakeholder Engagement Plans (SEPs), community relations plans, and Social Investment initiatives.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently with government, communities, NGOs/CSOs, and institutional partners.
• Experience leading and mentoring Social Performance / Community Liaison teams.
• Ability to work independently, manage conflict, influence diverse stakeholders, and meet tight deadlines.
• High computer literacy and strong analytical skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently within Namibia.
• Fluent in English and at least two additional Namibian languages.
• Strong ethics, professionalism, diplomacy, and excellent presentation skills.
