Service Section Manager: Power & Energy (Walvis Bay)
Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful incumbent will be responsible for leading the Walvis Bay Power & Energy team in supporting the marine and power generation industries and ensuring Customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Identifying and resolving capability and capacity issues within the Walvis Bay Power & Energy team in alignment with the Barloworld Namibia vision of achieving 30% net growth across Service, our Net Loyalty Score (NLS) and Percentage of Industry Sales (PINS)
- Responsible for controlling of Work-in-Progress and departmental KPI’s in line with the objective to reach a gold status in Service Excellence
- Accountable for the quality assurance requirement onboard marine vessels with engine overhauls and repairs with a Commissioning Technician as one of the direct reports who in turn is responsible for the relevant outputs
- Providing Customer satisfaction by ensuring quality and fast turnaround time on repairs and overhauls and meeting the given deadlines
- Maintaining Huddle meetings, allowing for open relationships conducive to collaborative problem solving
- Maintaining development for the Walvis Bay Power & Energy team in alignment with service support and growth actions
- Relationship building with external and internal Customers.
- Proactively liaising with principals to resolve problems and issues and build relationships going forward
- Holding and driving monthly meetings with key Customers to discuss issues and problems and ensuring a good relationship.
- Ensuring all problems are dealt with as quickly as possible
Requirements
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic with a Trade Diploma or National Vocational Certificate (NQF3) or applicable Engineering Diploma / Degree
- Minimum 5 years’ experience preferably in the marine and power generation industries
- Minimum 3 years’ management experience in the Customer interface (Supervisor Level and Up)
- Strong technical background from a mechanical engineering perspective
- Experience with managing CAT warranty processes
- Financial acumen and exposure to business planning and budgeting processes
- Sound business communication skills i.e. negotiation; presentation
- Ability to work independently, under pressure and meeting deadlines
- High level of computer literacy including relevant SAP/ NAXT
- People management skills and experience
- Must be in possession of a Code of Conduct not older than 1 year
- Valid Code B/ BE driver’s licence – manual transmission
