Key Responsibilities

• Will run the Hot Buffet kitchen to the same standards as set out & run shifts alone
• Able to work late shifts including night shifts
• To have good thorough knowledge of all Buffet items on the present hotel menus offered and to assist in implementing new menus.
• Maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene and ensure that hygiene levels are always maintained and adhered to.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Check on an maintain daily MEP of Buffet & Function items
• Is a definite team player and is willing to help in other areas of the kitchen as is needed.
• Excellent stock controls skills & knowledge, Menu & food costing ability.
• To ensure maximum guest satisfaction by managing and maintaining an effective department.
• Able to deal with any guest requests efficiently & solve guests’ complaints.
• Create a sense of teamwork within the kitchen.
• Responsible to operate within the policies and procedures as set out in the operating manual.
• Able to think on his/her feet in order to solve any issues or problems quickly and efficiently.

Requirements

• At least 3 to 5 year’s work experience in 4- or 5-star group
• At least 3 years’ experience in leading the Hot Kitchen Section of a 4-star Hotel
• Good management skills
• Good organization skills
• Tertiary education essential
• Minimum Std. 10 (Grade 12)
• Hotel Qualification/Diploma preferable
• Specialized Buffet qualification or similar years’ experience
• Excellent Communication Skills towards fellow employees and Guests
