Key Responsibilities
- Assist technicians with diagnostics and technical issues, test drive trucks after the job card has been completed, manage warranty documentation, perform maintenance inspections, assist procurement and schedule fleet maintenance intervals.
- Other general duties in line with the responsibilities and scope of a Technical Quality Controller.
Requirements
- Be a Namibian Citizen.
- Have a valid CE driver’s license and valid Code of Conduct (Police Clearance Certificate) not older than 3 months.
- Have a formal Automotive Technical and diagnostic qualifications (e.g., Trade Test, minimum NQF Level 3 or higher).
- Have a minimum of 10 year’s technical experience preferably in the transport industry.
- Have a strong technical background, often progressing from a technician role.
- Have experience in a quality control / supervisory role and attended Leadership courses.
- Ability to perform arcature pre/post service/repair road tests to verify that all work performed meets the required technical specifications and standards.
- Be able to manage breakdowns and implement solutions-especially after hours.
- Have experience in management of fleet tracking systems / on-board cameras.
- Have a background of General Transport & basic knowledge of accounting principles.
- Sober habits with high integrity and adherence to principles and values.
- Be open minded, willing to learn & take initiative and make informed decisions.
- Have good organizational & administrative abilities and be excellent at writing and reporting skills.
- Be computer literate (MS Office & SAP and On-Board Diagnostics).
- Possess excellent interpersonal & communication skills (English & Afrikaans) with the ability to supervise and guide others.
- Have excellent adaptation skills and high attention to detail & must work accurately, must be detail orientated.
- Be able to work according to strict deadlines, excellent time management skills are mandatory, track the progress of all vehicles and equipment with immediate any delays.
- Be result driven and meet customer expectations.
- Be flexible to work independently as well as in a team.
- Be able to cope with a demanding work life, to work as part of a team and to work under pressure.
- Have working knowledge of the application of Health & Safety Laws and ISO 9001:2015 principles.
