OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Are you a data enthusiast with a passion for turning numbers into actionable business insights? Our business is seeking a Business Analyst / Data Scientist to support Finance and Operations by analyzing sales, inventory, HR, and operational data to improve revenue, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Economics, or related field. Postgraduate degrees and analytics certifications are an advantage.
• 3-5 years’ experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or data science; retail/FMCG/multi-branch experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with POS, ERP/financial, HRIS, supply chain, or loyalty program data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau, or other data analytics and visualization tools.
• Knowledge of retail operations: pricing, promotions, stock management, shrinkage, and category performance drivers is beneficial.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Analyze financial, operational, HR, and customer data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Build predictive models for sales forecasting, stock-outs, manpower planning, and pricing strategies.
• Develop dashboards and automated reports to track KPIs such as sales, margins, shrinkage, and stock performance.
• Conduct competitor and market analysis to inform pricing, promotions, and store-level strategies.
• Provide actionable insights to Finance, Operations, Buying, HR, and Marketing to support decision-making.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and accessibility of data across all branches and systems.

QUALIFICATIONS AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

• Completion of Grade 12
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in data analytics
