One Comment
Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Edward Godfried, a Namibian citizen holding a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Geology from the University of Namibia (UNAM), obtained in 2013.
I have over ten years of professional experience in the field of geohydrology, particularly in groundwater exploration, which includes borehole siting, drilling supervision, and test-pumping supervision. In addition, I have extensive experience in groundwater resource management, covering groundwater monitoring (both quality and quantity), reviewing specialist groundwater studies, and providing technical recommendations for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs).
I previously served as the responsible hydrogeologist appointed by the Ministry to oversee the groundwater dewatering permit for Tschudi Mine. My primary responsibility was to ensure that dewatering activities were conducted in an environmentally responsible manner and that potential adverse impacts were effectively mitigated. As part of this role, I recommended the establishment of a robust monitoring borehole network capable of assessing the effects of dewatering on both aquifer quantity and quality. Another project that i was involved in, is the groundwater quality monitoring at Dundee Precious Metals regarding the Arsenic Contamination.
During my tenure at the Ministry Spanning from 2016 to present, I have reviewed, groundwater studies (including dewatering)for Rossing Uranium, Tschudi Copper Mine, B2Gold and Swakop Uranium were I gained insights on modelling and groundwater management in the Mining setting and this experience gave me the right set of skills to be the right candidate for this position. I have also atteneded training on groundwater modelling using Modflow by GMS and FEFLOW with SLR Namibia. And I am also well versed in GIS.
