Blood Transfusion Service of Namibia has a vacancy for a:

• 1 x Clinic Assistant / Driver – Oshakati

• 1 x Clinic Assistant / Driver – Swakopmund

The Blood Transfusion Service of Namibia (NAMBTS) is seeking a motivated, reliable Clinic Assistant/Driver to join the Blood Collections teams in Swakopmund and Oshakati. The role involves safely transporting staff and equipment, assisting with clinic setup, donor registration, and supporting efficient mobile clinic operations in the coastal or northern regions.

Key Performance areas include (yet not limited) to:

• Inspect, maintain and secure company vehicles, complete vehicle log sheets and report defects or incidents promptly.

• Load, transport and off-load equipment and staff to/from clinics; ensure safe storage and handling of clinic equipment.

• Assist with pre- and post-clinic tasks: equipment preparation, quality checks, clinic setup before start, and pack-down after close.

• Assist with donor registration, direct donors to information materials and support nurses during pre-donation checks (e.g., haemoglobin, body weight).

• Offer donor refreshments, help manage minor adverse reactions, and ensure specimens and paperwork are packed and handed over to couriers on time.

• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and clinic venue; report transport delays or breakdowns.

• Keep accurate records of clinic activities and attend required training and meetings.

• Support donor relations by handling queries, escalating complaints, and assisting with promotional activities as needed.

• Participate in mentorship, on-the-job training and perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements:

• Grade 12 (matric).

• Valid Code C1E or CE driver’s licence with Professional Driving Permit (PDP).

• Basic computer literacy.

Competencies: Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills. Mature, discreet, and good personal skills. Able to work independently under supervision. Flexible, reliable, and willing to travel within the coastal or northern region.

Remuneration: A market-related salary is subject to negotiation.
