Excavator Operator Required

 

 

Job Details:

 

 

• Number of positions (1) | Internal/External

• Division: Mining (Husab Site)

 

 

Purpose of the Job:

 

The Excavator Operator is required to operate primary loading production excavators in the open pit mining operation. This is done through loading material into hauling trucks to deliver required production volumes in a safe and efficient manner.

 

 

Key Performance Areas:

 

 

• Excavation – Safely and efficiently operate the excavator to dig, move and load materials

• Loading – Safely and precisely load trucks to capacity requirements and minimize spillages

• Following operators – Work according to digging sequence, toe grade and floor levels

• Safety – Compliance to all company safety rules and regulations, identity and reports risks.

• Spatial Awareness – High concentration and awareness to safely manoeuvre large equipment

• Communication – With supervisors, dispatcher, and other operators via radio or other means

• Reporting – Inspect equipment, record and report defects, Report hours and work done

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

 

Qualifications:

 

 

• • Grade 10 or 12 certificate

  • Code B driver’s license is compulsory

  • Operator certificate of Competence on CAT390, CAT6020B or similar 90 tons-120 tons Excavators

 

 

Experience:

 

 

• • At least 3 years’ experience as an Excavator Operator

 

 

Knowledge and Skills:

 

 

• • Good communication skills

  • Knowledge of how to carry out a pre-start checks

  • General open pit mining knowledge

  • Safe driving and accurate record keeping
