Trustco Group Holdings Ltd is an investment entity headquartered in Windhoek, Namibia, that manages a diverse portfolio of investments spanning the insurance, education, real estate, mining and micro-finance sectors. Decisions are biased towards long-term investment performance, and short-term hurdles are viewed as catalysts for future growth.
The support services subsidiaries have the following vacancy;

FINANCIAL MANAGER

(1 x Windhoek)

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage, train and supervise the junior accounting team.
• Oversee cash book entries and bank reconciliations.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• VAT reconciliations, returns and audits.
• Invoicing of AR and AP for intercompany purposes.
• Reconciling intercompany and external AR and AP accounts.
• Oversee debtors’ function – invoicing, debtor’s statements and collection.
• Oversee creditors function – processing, reconciliations and journals.
• Clearing suspense accounts and drive completion of month-end processing.
• Prepare ledgers, fire reports and trial balances.
• Assist with monthly cash flow projections.
• Assist with annual preparation of budgets/forecasts and reporting on variances.
• Monthly and year-end financial reporting, preparation of management accounts and annual financial statements.
• Prepare income tax calculations and submissions.
• Provide, analyse and interpret financial information to support decision-making.
• ⁠Liaise with and provide assistance to internal and external auditors.
• Prepare GL reconciliations and working papers.
• Keeping abreast of International Financial Reporting Standards.
• Various ad hoc accounting duties.

Candidate Profile:

• Ability to prioritize and manage time, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
• Strong planning skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Good analytical, qualitative, administrative and decision-making skills.

Qualifications and experience:

• Grade 12 certificate.
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting (e.g., B.Accounting, B.Com, or equivalent).
• Proficiency in Caseware or Draftworx reporting is essential.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong computer literacy with proficient knowledge of core accounting software packages.
• Thorough understanding of International Accounting Standards (IAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Comprehensive knowledge of Namibian taxation and proficiency with the ITAS online system.

A minimum requirement to be considered as a possible shortlisted candidate for the vacant position will be that the applicants must successfully pass the “Trustco Group Integrated Annual Report Test” which will consist of multiple-choice questions from the annual report of the group, portfolios and subsidiaries.
