EXECUTIVE ESG MANAGER
Location: Windhoek and Noord_oewer

JOB SUMMARY

Seeking a mission-critical, executive-level ESG leader to immediately develop and execute a “bankable” ESG strategy, plans and related management systems for the globally-financed Haib Copper Project, near Noord_oewer. The core objective is ensuring compliance with Tier 1 international investor ESG requirements and delivering an auditable ESG operational readiness plan for financing, construction, and operations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Master’s degree in engineering, or a related field, and an advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) focusing on ESG and/or corporate strategy or finance.

• Ten+ years of experience in senior ESG mining sector roles across pre-feasibility, feasibility, construction, and operational readiness phases.

• Significant project-level experience with global ESG frameworks, particularly IFC PS, ICMM Principles and Position Statements, SASB, TCFD, and the GRI.

• Expertise in designing and deploying board-level governance and risk systems.

• Proven success in ESG operational readiness planning and implementation.

• Expertise in global stakeholder engagement and managing ESG-related relationships with international development finance institutions (DFIs) and global institutional investors.

• Managing global investor requirements with local government expectations.

• Proven stakeholder and community engagement and relationship-building expertise, and managing a trust or foundation to manage CSI projects.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

• Namibian citizenship. Driver’s license. Willingness to travel extensively.

RESPONSIBILITIES

With a focus on meeting international ESG investor requirements:

• Develop and implement ESG strategies and implementation and operational readiness plans that cater to different project development stages and that meet the above-mentioned framework requirements.

• Design, embed, and report on a board and ops-level ESG governance structure.

• Hold ultimate accountability for ensuring compliance with all local, national, and international permitting conditions, and leading the integration of advanced ESG risk mitigation into all engineering and operational planning.

• Direct the development, implementation, and auditing of the local content, socio-economic development (SED), and corporate social investment (CSI) programmes.

• Integrate technical ESG considerations in mine design.

• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and permitting conditions.

• Manage ESG data collection and annual ESG reporting.

• Assist with external stakeholder and community engagement and relations.

• Assist contractors in meeting Os_ino’s responsible mining expectations.
