MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

a. Must have a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
b. Preferably a Degree in Mechanical Engineering
c. At least 5 – 10 years’ experience in a related role

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assisting with long term Plant Department Strategic plans.

• Compiling Plant KPI’s and developing and implementing Plant Improvement & Optimization processes.

• Identifying, sourcing and allocating Plant resources for projects and managing site Plant establishment

• Communicating with Site Management to ensure effective and efficient Plant operations.

• Measuring and monitoring Plant productivity and availability and optimizing Plant allocation.

• Managing scheduled maintenance of Plant and monitoring and implementing planned component replacement schedules to meet Plant requirements and OEM standards.

• Identify and interpret related legislation and its impact on the Plant functions and ensure compliance

• Analyze qualitative and quantitative data required to formulate a strategic Plant plan

• Implement Plant improvement processes and projects

• Manage warranty claims with OEM’s and suppliers

• Process Plant returns

• Account for Plant Assets on site

• Ensure adherence with the organization’s code of conduct

• Maintain and update Plant policies and procedures

• Report on variances from the budget and the reasons for those variances

• Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, time management, overtime, misconduct, etc.)

• Demonstrate knowledge and operation of mechanical and electrical systems

• Apply basic human resource principles and best practices in the industrial workplace

• Implement an LCC register and tyre register
