REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
-
Grade 12
-
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in retail production or bakery production.
-
Minimum of 2 years’ Baker and Confectionary experience.
Literacy
-
Exceptional interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills.
-
Computer literacy: Strong Microsoft Office skills.
-
Numeric Literacy: Able to understand and interpret figures/budgets.
-
Sound knowledge of digital/online marketing skills.
Position Overview
The role of the Bakery Supervisor is to effectively plan, control and monitor the performance of the bakery department. They are responsible for supervising staff in matters relating to production, health & safety regulations, dress code, and policy. The position requires effective management of bakery/confectionary production and costing. Bakery Supervisor must maintain stock levels, quality and pricing to meets the demands of clients and ensure suppliers can supply as per demand. Overall maintenance checks of equipment is required and the ability to identify and minimize risks to operate at optimum capacity and functioning.
Main Areas of Responsibility

Targets and profitability: Sales and GP targets, waste control, damage and shrinkage controls.

Stock Management: Ordering, KVI’s, stock rotation

Product Quality, Consistency & Availability

Pricing and POS

Hygiene and housekeeping of sales area, front end and back of house.

Staff management: performance reviews, shifts and rosters and, monitor time and attendance.
