SAFETY OFFICER

VACANCY 

We are offering a full-time position to an experienced and dedicated person to join the team at our Oranjemund Project. The position will report to the Operations Manager and is based in ORANJEMUND

Key Performance Areas

– Implement and monitor company Environmental, Health and Safety Management Programs to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, standards, and company policies.
– Schedule and perform induction training.
– Conduct risk assessments and risk assessment training to address identified risks.
– Practice safe working techniques and reinforce safety and environmental policies, guidelines, and procedures as stipulated in company documents.
– Ensure personnel compliance with company policies and safety requirements.
– Provide daily guidance on EHS programs at the employee/supervisor level for a common and effective approach.

Requirements:

– *Minimum Qualification:* Diploma in Safety Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or any other relevant qualification.
– Knowledge of OHSAS 45001 standard / ISO 14001 Environmental Management system.
– Knowledge of national legislation:
– Mine Ordinance of 1969,
– Labour Act No. 11 of 2007 (Chapter 4),
– Government Notice No. 156,
– Labour Act, 1992: Regulations on health and safety of employees at work.
– Safety-related courses: Risk assessment, Incident Investigation, and SAMTRAC.
– Valid Code B driver’s license.
– Experience: Minimum 3 years’ proven experience in the mining industry.
