VACANCY 

GENERAL SECRETARY (HALF DAY PAID POSITION)

Are you passionate about hockey and looking to play a pivotal role in shaping its future in Namibia? The Namibia Hockey Union (NHU) is inviting applications for the position of General Secretary. This is a voluntary position ideal for someone with a love for sports, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to good governance.

Key Responsibilities:

The General Secretary will:

* Work closely with the NHU President and Executive Committee to ensure the effective administration of hockey in Namibia.
* Uphold and maintain the integrity of administrative and governance processes within the NHU.
* Manage all incoming and outgoing correspondence, ensuring it is filed, routed to the relevant committees and responding as needed.
* Circulate notices, reports, minutes, and agendas to all relevant parties, including the Executive Committee, Convenors, Members, and Affiliate Members.
* Maintain a comprehensive register of Members, Affiliated Members, their executive committees, players, umpires, and officials.
* Build strong partnerships and facilitate communication with stakeholders such as the Ministry of Youth, Sport and National Service, NSC, NNOC, AHF, and FIH, in collaboration with the relevant Executive members.
* Manage an annual calendar of hockey activities, ensuring regular updates to the NHU Council and NSC every four months or as required.
* Record and transcribe the minutes of all Council, General, and Executive Committee meetings, as well as monitor Standing Committee meeting minutes as outlined in the Bylaws.
