FIELD ASSISTANT

VACANCY 

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12

• Valid Code B License

• 2-3 years’ experience

• Valid Code of Conduct

• Experience with off-road driving

DUTIES

• Assist geologists with geological mapping, trenching, drilling, and sampling

• Prepare and label sample bags (rock, soil, stream sediment, or core samples)

• Transport and organize samples to and from collection points and sample storage areas

• Maintain and clean sampling tools and field equipment

• Assist in drill rig setup, support, and monitoring during drilling programs

• Record sample locations using GPS and fill out field logs accurately

• Carry out basic data entry into databases or field tablets

• Set up and manage field camps, including organizing supplies and maintaining camp hygiene

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures in all field activities

• Conduct basic site maintenance, such as clearing vegetation and maintaining access routes
