VACANCY
Role Purpose:
The role involves community engagement, coordination with the Settlement Office, and assisting with project implementation and events.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Liaison with the Aus Settlement Office.

Supporting all participatory activities in the settlement in line with the project principles and objectives.

Support household enumeration, mapping exercises, awareness raising and participatory events in Aus.

Regularly evaluates community awareness, satisfaction, perceptions as well as opportunities for community contributions.

Support (community) events with translation from English into local vernaculars.

Monitors risks, opportunities and conflicts in the community/settlement, and communicates these to the project and Aus Settlement Office.

Supports ongoing or new recurrent neighbourhood initiatives in the settlement and across the project, ensuring sustainability and community participation.

Supports the planning and execution of delegation visits and consultants assigned to engage with the community and the settlement.

Assists in other project activities, as required by management.
Requirements for the role

Grade 12
-
Added advantage: Certificate in community engagement-related fields, social work or similar.
-
2 years working experience in a comparable position.
-
Working experience with (informal settlement) communities and local authorities in the sector of community engagement and/or social work.
-
Applicants should have lived in Aus Settlement for the last three years and maintain specific knowledge of the communities and institutions in Aus Settlement.

Good knowledge of English and fluency in at least one local vernacular relevant for the Aus Settlement.

Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (Microsoft Suite).
