SUPERVISOR: WATER INFRASTRUCTURE – TSUMEB MUNICIPALITY

VACANCY

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Oversees functions of water networks and to ensure provision of Municipality services as per Council objectives. To perform plumbing work in respect of installation and maintenance of water pipes, sewage piping, and related systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• B-Degree in Water Engineering or equivalent qualifications on NQF Level 7 with five (5) years’ in water Infrastructure Management and Maintenance

• A National Diploma in Water Engineering/ Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications on NQF Level 6 with Eight (8) year relevant experience in water Infrastructure Management and maintenance

• Skills in plumbing/Pipe fitting, Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, Good housekeeping, dosing and treating of ground water

• Valid Driving License C1/BE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervises and water infrastructure

• Carry out preventative plumbing and maintenance work on water piping systems, sewerage, and plumbing equipment etc

• Perform inspections on water systems and plumbing equipment for plumbing work

• Execute planned repair and maintenance work on water systems

• Examine faulty piping systems to detect plumbing problems

• Ability to dose and treat ground water within the town

• Assist with the procurement of piping materials and fittings for water infrastructure

• Evaluate and monitor water infrastructure and usage

• Conduct on illegal connections and apply the necessary steps
