DELI ASSISTANT – AGRIMARK

Key Performance Areas:

• Prepare and present all meals in accordance with Deli specifications

• Ensure Company and statutory regulations are adhered to with regard to safety and hygiene

• Assist in the production and control of all meals to the Company’s high standard of quality, portion control, and presentation, always operating within budget

• Carry out reasonable requests by management and assist other staff members where necessary

• Perform duties with the required speed, efficiency, and organizational skills

• Greet customers when they arrive at the deli counter and ask them for their preferences or orders

• Take orders and repeat them to make sure that they are accurate

• Perform deli product ordering, purchasing, and stocking

• Keep the equipment clean and sanitized

• Manage product maintenance and rotation to avoid damages

• Remove expired and damaged products from storage areas and shelves according to the Company’s policy

• Always keep the entire work area neat and clean

• Ensure a sufficient supply of deli items is displayed in cases

• Pack ready-to-sell deli products and label them with type and pricing information

• Label products with the appropriate dates and prices

• Prepare food using various equipment such as fryers and ovens

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:

• A valid grade 10/12 (with at least 23 points)

• 1-2 years of practical experience

• Excellent customer service skills along with a friendly, outgoing personality

• Attention to detail

• Be a reliable, accurate, and dependable person

• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Afrikaans

• Physical ability to lift heavy items and work in a standing position for extended periods of time

• Ability to understand and follow instructions and regulations regarding food safety and sanitation

• Computer literacy

• Ability to work under pressure

• Namibia Citizenship
