VACANCY
The successful incumbent will report to the Director: Corporate Governance. The incumbent must be well motivated and positive with strong compliance, administrative, analytical and communication skills, an individual who can work independently whilst contributing to a team dynamic.

Minimum requirements:

LLB or BCom (Law) degree with 3 years’ working experience in a legal or compliance environment

Admission as legal practitioner of the High Court of Namibia, Compliance Management certification with a relevant, recognized, international association or an LLM, will be an advantage

Excellent technical and legal drafting skills

Exceptional command of English

Strong communication, conflict resolution and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and under pressure while maintaining service excellence

Collaborative team payer with the ability to engage across all organizational levels

Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities
Key Functions:
-
Support and drive governance and compliance initiatives across the Group
-
Analyze information and make decisions in line with agreed policies and work plans
-
Formulate and review internal policies to ensure alignment with applicable legislation
-
Assist with statutory, regulatory and governance compliance matters, including NAMFISA and Companies Act requirements
-
Draft, review and coordinate agreements, working with external legal service providers as needed
-
Develop, maintain and implement Legal Compliance manuals and checklists
-
Monitor litigation matters and prepare necessary documentation
-
Provide guidance on emerging laws and regulations and their impact on the organization
-
Oversee implementation and compliance with the AMLCP, including risk mitigation controls and procedures
-
Ensure regulatory breaches or concerns are reported and escalated appropriately
-
Contribute to training and development initiatives and deliver training across the organization
-
Prepare regulatory and compliance reports for Senior and Executive Management, Boards and clients
-
Provide legal opinions, advice and conduct legal research where required
