Reptile Mineral Resources and Exploration (Pty) Ltd (RMR) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Australian-listed Deep Yellow Limited (DYL). In Namibia, RMR manages and operates Reptile Uranium Namibia (Pty) Ltd (RUN) and other subsidiary companies.
RUN is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Superintendent to support the exploration and mining activities of our Tumas Project in the Erongo Region. This hands-on leadership role is critical to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of health and safety systems and programs in Namibia, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and industry best practices. This position fosters a strong culture of safety and compliance by mentoring and training employees, overseeing statutory reporting, and identifying and mitigating risks.

Key Responsibilities

Promote the safety culture through mentoring employees, leading by example, and supporting the SHER team to ensure world-class health and safety standards and processes across the site.

Lead the Emergency Response Team and manage related training, procedures, and contracts to ensure site preparedness.

Collect and analyse health & safety data, conduct incident investigations, implement corrective actions, and oversee health surveillance and return-to-work programs.

Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and emergency response systems, ensuring alignment with industry standards and full statutory compliance.

Conduct internal audits and risk assessments, and oversee the effective use of health & safety systems, including MyOSH.

Ensure legal compliance by developing and reviewing policies and staying informed on legislative changes and regulatory requirements.

Design and deliver health & safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns to build team competency and drive a proactive safety culture.

Manage contractor health & safety compliance and stakeholder relationships, and lead the performance, development, and engagement of health and safety personnel.
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.

Additional certifications in mine safety, risk management or auditing preferred.

Competency for appointment as Safety Officer under Regulation 6.

Minimum of 10 years’ mining safety experience in Namibia, with 5 years in a supervisor role.

Strong knowledge of Namibian mining regulations and ISO-aligned safety systems.

Skilled in incident investigation, data analysis, and reporting.

Valid Code BE (08) Drivers License
