JOB SUMMARY

The Fitter & Turner is responsible for installing and maintaining mechanical systems by fitting and machining precision components. Utilize various tools and machinery to fabricate and repair parts, ensuring a smooth operation for machinery and equipment.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct regular inspections, recognize and diagnose faults, and perform operational maintenance on machines
• Read and understand drawings and specifications to determine suitable materials, measuring tools, sequence of operations, and machine settings as pre-inspection
• Prepare prescribed cutting and shape tools in machines and equipment
• Prepare guides, stops, and other controls on numerous machining tools
• Ensure jobs are signed off after completion and forwarded to the next station as per pre-inspection.
• Actively contribute to the overall team activities and promote good working practices
• Ensure that all tasks carried out meet company standards
• Follow and comply with all safety rules and regulations in accordance with the companies
Code of Conduct and the Labour Act 11 of 2007
• Other responsibilities or tasks that are within your skills and abilities, whenever reasonably instructed by Supervisor
• Comply to ISO 9001, 29001 and 45001 policies, procedures, work instructions and manuals

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High attention to detail and precision in machining tasks
• Ability to work individually with minimal supervision and in a team environment
• Experience in machining and installing mechanical components
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Experience in hydraulics, machining and installing mechanical components
• Fitter and Turner level 3 – From a recognized training institute
