MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide leadership In promoting the economic development of Namibia through a sector-focused that Is aligned with the strategy of the Gambling Board of Namibia (gbn) and priorities, policies, and strategies The role focuses on ensuring optimal stakeholder engagement, strategy execution and organizational performances.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Policies and Strategies
Ensure the development policies and strategies that pro-activety promote economic development, and diversification of the national economy and achieve the mandate of the Board.
Drive the execution of the Board s corporate strategy in accordance with the Shareholder compact. Report periodically to the Board and the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism on the performance of the Board management against set objectives.
» Stakeholder Relationship Capital
Develops and maintains effective strategies relationships with key stakeholders including the industry, pnvate. civil society, and development partners.
Develop a wide range of relationships and networks locally, regionally, and internationally.
Work with partner institutions and other key stakeholders in the areas of policy, business climate, and associated business services to promote coordinated and complimentary services that meet the needs of local and foreign investors.
Assume ultimate responsibility and accountability for decision-making through liaison with executive management and key stakeholders.
- Financial Capital
Ensure strict adherence to prudent financial Management including annual budget allocations.
- Organisational Capital
Provides quakty leadership and ensures the existence of policies to attract and develop talent, drive employee engagement. Institute performance, and retain talent in line with the set GBN’s Integrated Strategic Business Plan liSBP) objectives.
Leads the development and implementation of the ISBP, to ensure sustainability and growth of the gambling industry in Namibia.
Safety and Governance Capital
Provides quality leadership to the Authority’s sustainable gambling and governance capital and reports to the Board.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge of the gambling industry and the Gaming and Entertainment Control Act of Namibia.
- Understanding of the Governance Frameworks of Public Entities in Namibia.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A Master s degree in-law. Business Administration, or any related field.
- Membership of an internationally recognized institution in Gambling will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of ten (10) years at the Director or Management level.
