Job Purpose:

As the Head Internal Audit, your role will be to lead and review the audit process for multiple portfolios and specialty areas in line with the Internal Audit strategy. You will be responsible for providing independent and objective assurance and advice within a segment or area of expertise to ensure sustainable client-centric risk management across Standard Bank Namibia.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess a Professional qualification: CA, CISA, CIA or related professional. Postgraduate degree in Audit or a related field. Additionally, a Degree in Accounting with 10 years’ experience of which 5 should have been in a senior managerial role. With a background that includes; Project management and leadership experience, knowledge of IT controls and data analytics, significant exposure to senior stakeholder management and demonstrated ability to lead and develop large teams.

Key responsibilities:

• Risk Management: Influence risk culture within the bank by identifying key risks, ensuring effective risk assessment and promoting adherence to audit methodologies and policies. • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior management and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the audit strategy.
• Leadership: Direct the audit team, manage and foster a collaborative, resources results-driven environment.

• Development: Support the development and execution of the Internal Audit strategy, especially in technology and data integration, aligning audit activities with organisational goals.

• Manage the Audit Process: Lead the planning, execution and completion of audits, ensuring each audit is risk-based, thorough and follows GIA’s standards.
• Training and Awareness: Promote knowledge sharing and provide training to Improve audit capabilities and enhance the organization’s awareness of key risk and control concepts. • Reporting. Oversee accurate, timely audit reporting, delivering insights and updates to the Chief Executive and the board to Inform decision-making.
• Budgeting: Develop, manage, and monitor the internal audit department’s budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation to deliver on audit objectives.
