Africa Global Logistics Namibia (Proprietary) Limited is seeking applications for the role of Managing Director, based in Walvis Bay, Namibia. The Managing Director will be pivotal in directing the strategic, operational, and performance initiatives of the company’s Namibian operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute the company’s strategic goals and objectives tailored
for the Namibian market.
• Formulate long-term logistics and supply chain strategies in alignment with the company’s overarching vision and objectives.
• Identify business opportunities, market trends, and potential partnerships to enhance the company’s footprint and revenue streams.
• Oversee comprehensive logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution networks.
•Ensure logistics processes are efficient and cost-effective, while upholding high service standards.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational performance and identify opportunities for enhancement.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to ensure profitability and effective cost control.
• Optimize resource allocation to fulfil financial objectives and maximize return on investment (ROI).
Lead, mentor, and support senior management and cross-functional teams to foster a high-performing organization.
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning across all levels of the organization.
• Serve as the primary liaison for key clients and stakeholders, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
• Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international regulations pertaining to logistics, transportation, customs, and trade.
Develop and enforce policies and procedures to minimize operational risks and of satisfaction and loyalty.

• Develop and enforce policies and procedures to minimize operational risks and uphold safety standards.
• Drive the integration of advanced logistics technologies such as Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and data analytics.
• Lead digital transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making processes.
• Encourage innovation in logistics operations to maintain competitiveness in a dynamic industry landscape.
• Represent the company in negotiations with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers.
• Maintain strong relationships with investors, board members, and other key stakeholders, providing regular updates on performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum ‘O’ Level Education or equivalent.
• At least 15 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 10 years in the freight forwarding industry.
• Over 10 years in senior leadership roles within the logistics, transportation, or supply chain sectors.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale logistics operations and multi-site teams. •Extensive experience in developing and executing logistics strategies that drive cost efficiency and enhance service delivery.
Expertise in global logistics, including managing international freight, cross-border operations, and understanding trade regulations.
• Strong vendor and partner management skills, with a history of negotiating and administering contracts with carriers and suppliers.
• Demonstrated operational excellence through process improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and technology integration.
• Relevant experience in Sub-Saharan Africa.
• Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and reporting
• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Required international work experience.
Fluency in English.
•Proficiency in MS Software systems commonly utilized in freight forwarding.
