Africa Inland Mission Christian Ministry is a not-for-profit Christian company dedicated to reaching the lost with the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Our vision is to encourage the Christian Church in Africa to be centred on Biblical teachings, committed to local communities while looking outward toward the needy, and dedicated to training up leaders for the future.
We are seeking a qualified individual to fill the position below. He or she must be self-funded. There is no salary or remuneration for this full-time, volunteer position. The applicant will be required to go through the membership process with Africa Inland Mission International before appointment.
POSITION: Unit Leader/Director for Namibia (40+ hours/week)
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Administrative tasks and networking with local organizations. ^Training, development and coordination of volunteers and partners. * Management and support of volunteers.
• Project management: the supervision of all projects of AIMCM.
Selection Criteria:
Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years prior leadership experience with a Christian ministry programme is required and a minimum of 5 years successful experience working in cross-cultural ministry.
Education: Either A) a Master’s degree in Christian ministry or related field plus 5 years successful work experience in a relevant field or B) a Bachelor’s degree in Christian ministry plus 7 years successful work experience in a relevant field.
Knowledge: Christian mission and Biblical mandate for spiritual, emotional and social development, along with understanding of Church planting and development models. Experience in pastoral care and member development also required.
Abilities: Able to train others in non-formal methodologies including mentoring colleagues to work respectfully in cross-cultural settings. Networking, pastoral skills, supervisory skills, administrative skills in budgetingand basic accounting, goal-setting, vision-casting, excellent written and oral reporting skills, and a desire to raise up workers to serve the church and God’s kingdom. Conflict management, intercultural team training and ability to handle multiple logistically complicated tasks necessary.
The successful candidate for this position must be a professed, mature Christian with high moral standards and depth of knowledge of the Bible. Proven ability to work cross-culturally is a priority. High competency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
