Seaflower Group of Companies incorporating the two main Operators, Seaflower Whitefish Corporation Limited & Seaflower Lobster Corporation based in Lüderitz, is an Equal Opportunity/ Affirmative Action employer and requires the services of a Second Mate for her wet fish trawler vessels at its Head Office in Lüderitz.

The incumbent will report to the Chief Mate and will be responsible is to overseeing the safety and security of the ship as a third in command officer of the vessel and to perform watch keeping and other important duties directly related to the operations of the vessel.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS WILL INCLUDE AND ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Carry out watch keeping duties.
• Directly responsible for deck operations.
• Responsible for monitoring the lifesaving and firefighting equipment of the vessel.
• Crew monitoring and overseeing the running of the factory.
• Be in charge of the overall safety of the deck.
• Ensure quality fish to be delivered to the factory from high seas.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Namibian citizen.
• Deck officer class 6
• Must have sailed as Second Mate on vessel >200T for at least 2 years
• Good knowledge of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality rules.
• Proof of safety certificates, medical fitness, updated seamen’ book.
