Seaflower Group of Companies incorporating the two main Operators, Seaflower Whitefish Corporation Limited & Seaflower Lobster Corporation based in Lüderitz, is an Equal Opportunity/ Affirmative Action employer and requires the services of a Shore skipper for her wet fish trawler vessels at its Head Office in Lüderitz.

The incumbent will report to the Fleet and Maintenance Manager and will supervise all operations concerning vessel docking, offloading, loading and departure carried out by the SWC team or contractors, liaising with port and maritime authorities on matters concerning vessel operations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS WILL INCLUDE AND ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Ensure port authorities are informed of vessel arrival.
• Verify vessel documents
• Attend port authority daily meetings regarding port docking planning
• Supervise offloading operations
• Verify that landing order is filed with the relevant authorities
• Verify that fisheries observer attends offloading operations
• Liaise with port authority to ensure offloading equipment is ready for vessel offloading
• Ensure relevant authorities are informed of vessel departure time and date

REQUIREMENTS:
• Namibian citizenship
• Grade 12 certificate
• Knowledge of loading and offloading a fishing vessel
• Deck Officer Class will be an advantage
• Knowledge of DMA, NSI operations will be an added advantage
• Computer literate (Word/Excel)
