FLEET AND MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Seaflower Group of Companies incorporating the two main Operators, Seaflower Whitefish Corporation Limited & Seaflower Lobster Corporation based in Lüderitz, is an Equal Opportunity/ Affirmative Action employer and requires the services of an innovative and experienced Fleet and Maintenance Manager at its Head Office in
Lüderitz.

The incumbent reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the safe and effective management of the overall Fleet operations as per laid down procedures

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS WILL INCLUDE AND ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Ensure that all MFMR returns are prepared accurately and submitted timeously.
• Proactively manage the fleet to catch and land allocated Hake quota.
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the department.
• Ensure compliance to statutory requirements and legislation
• Enforce policies and procedures and guidelines to ensure safe and environmentally sound operations.
• Ensure vessels are crewed, operated and maintained in accordance with all regulatory requirements and company standards.
• Compile budgets and forecasts of vessel operating costs.
• Control the vessels’ performance, shipboard maintenance, dry docking, and repair programmes.
• Oversee appointment of senior officers.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Be a Namibian citizen
• Holder of CoC (Certificate of Conformance) Deck or Engineering
• Proficient in all Maritime Regulations and DMA Requirements with at least 10 years’ experience in the fishing industry both on land and sea.
• Extensive experience in procurement and managing of contractors involved in the operation fleet and logistics thereto,
• Computer-literate, proficient in MS Excel and MS Word as well as MS Outlook
• Proficient in written and spoken English
• Excellent planning and organisation skills
• The ability to work independently
• Code 08 driver’s license
