Position: Executive: Transmission (5 -Year Fixed Term Employment Contract)
Business Unit: Transmission
Job Grade: 3 (Peromnes)

Primary Purpose of the job:
The incumbent is responsible for leading and managing the Transmission Business Unit. This responsibility includes planning of transmission projects, distribution system maintenance, identification of opportunities to expand the National Transmission System, managing primary customers as well as the Wires Business, System Security and Planning, Supply Chain and Materials, Supply Business, Networks Operations, Transmission Capital Projects, and Engineering Services.

• Leading and directing the Transmission Business Unit
• Overseeing System and Security Planning
• Projects and Operational management
• Ensuring effective and efficient Systems and Network Operations
• Managing the supply chain and materials
• Managing Wire Business, Engineering Services, Supply Business and Grid online
• Customers and Stakeholders Management
• People and Financial Management
• Adhering to all laid down Security and SHEW related regulations and rules.

Minimum Requirements:
• Relevant Master’s degree or equivalent qualification (NQF 9)
• Registration as a professional or incorporated Engineer with the Engineering Council of Namibia
• Valid Code B driver’s license

Experience Required:
• Ten (10) years’ experience in the Transmission Business of the electricity supply industry and associated areas of which a minimum of five (5) years should be at a Senior managerial level.
