Senior Wellness Officer
QKR Namibia Navachab Gold Mine, situated in Karibib, Namibia seeks to appoint a suitably qualified and
experienced Senior Wellness Officer, The position reports to the Health Coordinator.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Implementing and evaluating the Wellness Programme and designing a Wellness Action Plan accordingly.
• Providing wellness related counselling, coaching, consultation and information to employees, both
telephonically and face to face.
• Liaise with the relevant stakeholders with regard to wellness matters.
• Supporting employees in the management of their work-life stressors, behavioural and physical health risks.
• Communicating and liaising with external service providers regarding persons in need of referrals.
• Training and development of Peer Education within departments.
• Continuously providing HIV and AIDS, Alcohol, Drug education and other related matters support.
• Conducting awareness programmes on Primary Health Care.
• Efficiently handle all filing and maintain the Occupational Health Database
• to ensure a well-structured and organized administrative office in general.
• Ensuring a safe and healthy working environment as per Navachab standards.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Primary Health Care, Psychology, Social Work or other relevant Health
Promoting profession.
• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in counselling, health promotion, public health or relevant field.
• Demonstrated awareness and working knowledge of the labour law, disability law and related legislation.
• Valid registration with HPCNA will be a distinct advantage.
• Proven knowledge of Health-related ailments that impede workplace performance.
• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Additional experience in the areas of Depression, Disability / Return to work, Chronic Pain, Obesity and
Substance Abuse.
• Experience in conducting assessments, impact analysis and program development.
• Excellent written, verbal and communication skills (awareness, education, presentations, report writing, etc).
• Proven experience and knowledge in cost/budget management.
• A high score in the recommended psychometric test.
• A valid driver’s license.
