PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Coordinate and control the maintenance, development, renewal and provision of mechanical equipment and rolling stock to meet the business needs of the Company and in order to ensure optimum availability and utilization of resources.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

BSc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering registered as a Professional Engineer with the Namibian Engineering Council
Eight (8) years experience in a Mechanical Engineering environment of which three (3) years should have been at the Senior Engineer level, with emphasis on surface transport repair and maintenance
Broad-based knowledge of rolling stock and vehicle repair and maintenance, technical knowledge of surface transport equipment, knowledge of the interaction of the above with the railway and roads environment, costing and budgeting for surface transport repair and maintenance
Analytical, and interpersonal skills, long-term planning skills, organizational skills, leadership/ management, and communication skills
Self-starting initiatives, time management, visionary, stress management, goal directness, emotionally mature/ self-controlled and flexible
